Our outside catering company quickly grew by word of mouth, catering for various outside events from small parties to large weddings and corporate events for up to 300 guests. We moved into the South West more than 8 years ago and now have a glowing reputation as one of the top catering companies in Devon. We cater in some of the finest venues in the area working with high profile clients, large corporations and many wonderful brides and grooms.

The Peter Mundy Team
Chef Peter Mundy has over 20 years’ experience as a professional chef of high acclaim having cooked for numerous high profile private clients and businesses at a range of the finest venues in the West Country.
Trained in Classic French and Modern English cuisine by renowned chef Paul Groom, Peter has developed his own style and passion for creating great dishes. Now based in Devon, Peter is also a well-regarded consultant in the catering industry. He currently runs two successful catering businesses for all kinds of functions, including weddings, private parties and corporate events.
Peter Mundy Catering Ltd was recently a regional finalist in the Wedding Industry Awards for Caterer of the Year. Peter’s ethos is to use fresh, seasonal, local produce and to convey his passion for cooking to his customers via his exceptional food. Miguel Tenreiro is of Portuguese descent but grew up in South Africa where he trained at the Castle Hotel in Kyalami, Johannesburg under chef Jade Sullaphen. Since his arrival in the UK, he has worked at the Royal Castle Hotel in Dartmouth under head chef Henri Gunter, and most recently, as the Head Chef at the historic Luttrell Arms in Dunster.
Chef Miguel has a passion for hunting and fishing – pheasant cooked in a kamado (smoker) and local venison are some of his favourite dishes. Slow roasted pork belly cooked over an open fire with sweet potato crisps, cauliflower puree and apple compote is Miguel’s idea of food heaven!
Seasonality is also a very important consideration to the taste and quality of his creations. Chef Miguel believes in the understanding of where the ingredients are from thus reducing food miles and supporting local farmers and growers. With his passion for foraging, fishing and hunting, Chef Miguel brings those elements to his culinary skills.

A valuable member of the Peter Mundy Catering Team, Michell also hales from South Africa and arrived in the UK in 2007. She started work in Dartmouth in the restaurant business and then progressed to becoming a Wedding and Events Co-ordinator involved in a variety of functions.
The life of a wedding co-ordinator in Dartmouth was busy and varied – meet the guests in front of the hotel, board the ferry across to Kingswear, then a train to Churston station where the ceremony took place, followed by canapes and champagne on the platform! Not finished yet… then board the steam train back to Kingswear and finally onto a cruise boat for the all-important wedding breakfast on the River Dart! Phew…
Michell then moved on to work as Hotel Manager at Millers At The Anchor, Porlock Weir and finally joined the Peter Mundy team in July 2015 as Wedding and Events Executive. She is responsible for all wedding and event planning and is ultra-organised and passionate about the industry.
Michell and Miguel will marry in their native South Africa in March 2018. Hopefully, Miguel won’t be in the kitchen and Michell won’t be running around organising waitresses on the day!
We understand that every customer and every event is different, that's why we provide a bespoke and dedicated service to all of our clients.
Having a series of set menus to choose from would limit the options for the catering service we provide, so we speak to each customer individually to fully understand your requirements and then, once we have understood your precise needs, we work together to create the perfect menu for your occasion. We are also happy to use our experience to create you a great menu if you would prefer to leave it up to us.
